Float Glass Data Sheet

Designed for applications where optimum.
Float glass data sheet. Material safety data sheet float and rolled flat glass section 13 disposal considerations glass and glass dust can be recycled into some new glass products and should be recycled wherever appropriate and possible. Float glass also called flat glass that has not been heat strengthened or tempered is annealed glass. Clear float and low ironglass data sheet v1 3 0 where and why use low iron glass low iron glass can be used anywhere clear float glass can be used. Glass and glass dust is not considered a hazardous waste under usepa rcra.
Float glass is characterized by great surface hardness but is very fragile and uv transmittant. It is usually color neutral and highly transparent but tints are possible too. Annealed glass can be cut machined drilled edged and polished. Dispose as an industrial waste per local requirements.
It can be laminated toughened and is treated exactly the same as clear float glass. Chemically strengthened or chemically tempered glass and thermally heat strengthened glass will tend to fracture much the same as normal strength annealed glass and are not considered safety glazing products. Annealing float glass is the process of controlled cooling to prevent residual stress in the glass and is an inherent operation of the float glass manufacturing process. Normal strength glass also known as annealed or float glass is known to fracture into large sections with sharp edges.
